We are now a business to rival any other on the high street and not just because of our size.
Over 6 million members, more than 100,000 colleagues, 4,800 retail trading outlets and an annual turnover of more than £13bn - and growing.
To grow as a business and do even more for our communities, we’re transforming our branches to better reflect the modern, customer-focused pharmacy service we provide. It’s all part of our ambition to be recognised as the leading provider of ethical and socially responsible pharmacy services in the community.
It’s a mission that comes straight from the same ethical roots that have driven us forward since 1844, when The Co-operative Group was formed to make quality products and services available to everyone, at prices they could afford — and it’s a tradition we’re proud of today.
Past, present and future
As the largest owned community pharmacy in the UK, Co-operative Pharmacy branches can be found far and wide, providing a comprehensive range of healthcare services — from flu jabs and blood pressure testing to expert advice.
As a co-operative, we’re driven by our ethical values, but that doesn't mean we’re not commercially-focused. Quite the opposite, in fact. We’re expanding all the time. With an 800 strong branch network, we dispensed 66 million prescriptions last year and our Distribution Centre is the largest in Europe.
A world of careers
We offer an incredibly wide range of careers — from qualified pharmacists and the talented teams that support our branches, to our Head Office in Manchester and National Distribution Centre in Stoke-on-Trent. With the The Co-operative Pharmacy, you’ll enjoy the support and scope to progress up or across our diverse business.
