Our mission statement is to provide financial leadership to The Co-operative Banking Group by monitoring how we spend, forecasting how much we are going to need to spend, analysing how we use our resources and working to continually improve our business. We are split into the following areas:

Financial Control

The team handles everything from expenses to producing the annual and interim report and accounts.

Actuarial Risk

Supports the Life & Savings business and helps to ensure the funds are managed prudently.

Banking Risk

Carries out the same role for our banking business.


Our business partnering team that works with the customer-facing parts of the business to help maximise returns and minimise unnecessary cost.

Group Finance

Business partnering with the executive and the Board and managing our reporting relationship with investors and rating agencies.


Focusing on maximising our use of funds and managing our day-to-day relationship with the markets.

The Finance Directorate brings together a broad range of key finance management functions, tailored to the needs of The Co-operative Banking Group.
