Why we're different

All the factories we use are audited through Sedex, a global system that connects businesses and their global suppliers to share ethical data and enable continuous improvement in ethical performance.

The Co-operative Group and brand standards work collectively to ensure Sedex recommendations are followed, allowing our customers to buy a wide range of products with confidence that they are manufactured and sourced ethically.

Commitment to Fairtrade

Fairtrade is an alternative to conventional international trade, providing a guaranteed minimum price to farmers for raw materials from developing countries, as well as the payment of a social premium to allow for democratically agreed investment in community projects such as education, water supplies and medical facilities.

More and more businesses are now committing to Fairtrade, and we were the first to apply it to work wear. In fact, we can even trace our supply chain back to the raw ingredients and demonstrate that cotton used provides a stable income for whole communities.

Commitment to a fair supplier base

We take an active interest in changing working practices for the better, amongst other initiatives personally visiting our Far East suppliers to ensure ethical credentials in terms of management and working conditions.
