Sales & marketing roles


Via our wardrobe system, we meet the uniform requirements of over 100,000 employees throughout The Co-operative Group and Independent Co-operative Societies. We offer a full account managed service, which includes employee data, staff allowances and uniform grades. We also manage stock levels and replenishments.

As a member of the sales team, you should be a self-motivated individual and team player comfortable with working towards monthly and annual targets. You should not only be able to demonstrate a successful track record in sales, but also apply an interest and passion for the clothing industry. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and current customers, so you should be good at building rapport, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Marketing & New Business

We deal with all aspects of raising the profile and image of The Co-operative Clothing brand, which includes the fabrication, design layout and launch of the annual trade catalogue and other marketing material, such as magazine advertisements and press releases.

We liaise with The Co-operative Group brand team in Manchester to ensure guidelines are followed.

Our main target is to bring in new customers via exhibitions, campaigns and outbound calls and to support and enable their conversion into commerical revenue.

Marketing encompasses a wide variety of tasks, including:

• Website content
• Exhibition planning
• Design work
• Catalogue implementation
• Liaising with third parties (e.g Printers, Photographers)
• Ensuring the company adheres to strict brand guidelines
• Social Media content and management

Working in this team, it is important to have well established people skills and to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. A good standard of literacy and numeracy is essential, as marketing involves a lot of written communication where accuracy is a must.

In order to flourish within the competitive marketing industry, it is often necessary to be diplomatic, persuasive and have solid negotiation skills. Networking is key, and building up strong working relationships is of great importance when you progress within the industry.
