Seasonal arable work
Join our team for the summer
From July to September each year, Co-operative Farms has a requirement for a large team of seasonal workers to help with harvesting on our farms throughout the UK. This unique experience allows you to work with some of the most modern equipment whilst gaining valuable skills and experience. Those workers who are graduates in agriculture also have the opportunity to apply for our Graduate Management Programme. We provide accommodation on all sites, and all seasonal workers will receive one week’s induction at our Stoughton Estate in Leicestershire. The atmosphere at harvest is sociable and friendly and there is a great community feeling on the sites – many of our workers return year after year to spend the summer with us.

Seasonal picking and packing
The Co-operative Farms employ seasonal workers, as well as permanent employees, at our soft and top fruit farms and pack houses. Seasonal work is available on our farms from March (when we start preparing strawberry plants for harvest) until November when the apple season ends. The pack houses operate all year round. Many of our seasonal workers and permanent staff come from Europe, including central and eastern European countries. Our EU workers tend to come back year after year to work during the harvest and some return for permanent, managerial positions after graduation.
