There are a number of departments within our Central Operations function, each providing services and support that are essential to the smooth running and profitability of our stores. These are:
Food Retail Operations
Responsible for a number of key areas including Loss Prevention, Information Management, Post Office and Concessions Management, Store Availability Management and Acquisitions and Disposals.
The Diligence Team develops the policies and initiatives to ensure compliance on Retail Food Safety, Age Restricted Sales and related matters.
Innovations and Manpower
The Innovations and Manpower team works in collaboration with all parts of the business to make servicing the customer easier for our colleagues in-store.
Retail Training comprises two teams focused on developing the knowledge, skills and capability of all store colleagues:
The Regional Training Team
Our field-based Training team is made up of Regional Training Managers, Training Team Leaders and Operations Trainers, who deliver a suite of blended behavioural learning and technical training offers to support our in-store colleagues.
The Retail Training Design Team
This team supports our field-based training teams by continuously developing and improving our range of interactive learning suites for our in-store colleagues.
Retail Communications and Service
It is essential that stores be kept up-to-date with important operational information, so that they can trade efficiently and effectively to maximise sales and ensure procedures and processes are aligned. This is where the Retail Communications and Service team comes in.
With the launch of the new, ‘state-of-the-art’, communication and policy reference system, we now have a unique and more dynamic tool to better manage our business information requirements. This, alongside the effective management of operational events ensures that we provide the best communications solution to deliver our customers' requirements.
We strive to operate the best food stores in the UK and the Food Standards team engages with the business at all levels to help deliver the tools that ensure great shop floor standards for our customers, while the Home Delivery team makes it as simple as possible for our stores to run this value-adding service.
The Retail Service team provides support for our store and field colleagues in order to help them to deliver a truly excellent service to our customers.
