It is our job in Supply Chain to ensure that the right products are in the right place at the right time. With over 2,800 stores and approximately 15,000 product lines, this is very big operation. We are currently undergoing a major change programme to build a logistics network that will serve our stores and customers better than ever before. Our aim is to modernise our business and become more sophisticated, by adopting new processes and ways of working. We will enhance our position as a retailer of choice by providing excellent customer service, thereby increasing our market share and profitability, enabling us to invest more in good causes.
Better systems, better processes, better environments
We have already received design awards for our innovative new depots in Newhouse, Lanarkshire and Andover, Hampshire, and our brand new, state-of-the-art, multi-temperature, regional distribution centres in West Thurrock in the South East of England and in Birtley, County Durham are already operational, with more to follow.
The change programme is continuing to transform and modernise our entire logistics network, and our continued investment in systems, facilities, the environment and our people is making our business a very exciting place to work. This is a huge challenge and we need the right people, with the right skills and attitude to succeed.
