This is probably the best known and most high profile position within the industry.
The standards set by our Funeral Directors and the service delivered by them have played a large part in making The Co-operative Funeralcare the largest funeral provider in the UK.
Our Funeral Directors deal with our clients at one of the most emotive times of their lives, and this requires a great deal of skill and empathy. The Funeral Director can be involved with the family from the very first call through to the day of the funeral and beyond. The role of the Funeral Director requires not just flawless interpersonal skills but also confidence and knowledge of the options available to the client.
The most high profile part of this role is the conducting of the funeral, from the paging of the funeral cortège to the committal. The Funeral Director will be ensuring that all the arrangements are carried out perfectly and the client is fully looked after.
No previous training or qualification is required for this role, as The Co-operative Funeralcare provides full and thorough, recognised training and qualifications. All we ask is that you have a desire to learn and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
We are proud of the Funeral Directors within our business, many of whom are not just our employees but our ambassadors, highly respected within local communities and often requested by name by our clients.
