In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of a Funeral Director, the Principal Funeral Director will oversee the more organisational tasks within the business, so they still require the same passion for client service and attention to detail.
This role requires exceptional organisational skills, as a PFD has responsibility for the scheduling of the funeral teams, the arranging of the on-call rotas and the management of appointments for others. Above all else, the PFD must ensure that clients receive the service they have come to expect from The Co-operative Funeralcare.
In some hubs the Principal Funeral Director will work closely with the Manager and assist with some management tasks, such as staff appraisals and the day-to-day management of the teams. As with the Funeral Director’s role, the desire to “go the extra mile” for our communities and clients is essential, and it is this desire that has led to our Principal Funeral Directors being admired all over the country.
Like the Assistant Manager’s role, the Principal Funeral Director role is an ideal way to further your career and move towards a management position.
