Ready for the future
Traditionally, only firms of solicitor have been able to offer legal services to consumers. However, in 2011 changes will be introduced allowing greater competition in the legal market place and enabling Alternative Business Structures (ABS) to offer legal services to consumers.
We can already provide many of these legal services ahead of the legislative change, and we hope to become one of the first newly licensed ABS bodies. This provides The Co-operative Legal Services with a valuable competitive advantage when other organisations decide to enter the market and become an ABS.
