What we look for

Firstly, as you would expect from a business with our ethical approach, we are fully committed to equality and diversity and believe that everyone should be treated fairly, both in the application process and at work.

Excellence is what our customers expect, and it is what we expect our people, whatever their role, to deliver. It is how we do business.

You can be sure your application will be welcomed, read and treated in the same way as everyone else’s. We look for people with potential, and will measure you against the needs of the job on offer.

Each job within the Motor Group needs different skills. In some roles you will be dealing with people and in others with figures, so in the interview we will look for a good match.

Over and above this, there are some general qualities we look for in everyone. We like people who communicate well, who have a positive approach, who can use their initiative and who want to learn, develop and grow – because that is what we want you to do too. Equally, as we are part of the wider Co-operative Group, we look for people who work well in teams, and who share our passion for customer service and a fair and ethical approach to business.

In Motor Group, perhaps the quality we value above all others is customer service. It matters to us, and we know that it matters to our customers. In a recent survey, 98% said they would definitely come back to us for their next car. Similarly, our dealerships in Keighley (Peugeot) and Bradford (Renault) have been commended by the West Yorkshire Trading Standards Association for their dedication to customer service, and for helping people to find the right vehicle.

To top it all, the Keighley dealership also won an ‘Excellent Customer Service’ award.

“I would like to congratulate The Co-operative Motor Group, Peugeot, Keighley on continuing to meet consumers’ ever-increasing needs when it comes to customer service. They are a great example of what the partnership is all about”.
