Ranging Team Leader, Supply Chain, Head Office
I graduated in Communications Studies & English from Liverpool University in 2004 and started in Supply Chain later that year. After a year as a Supply Chain Assistant, I was promoted to my current role.
I’ve been on a couple of in-house Team Management courses that were great for developing motivational strategies and techniques and have successfully put these to good use with my team. I am also aware that if I wanted to do any Supply Chain related qualifications then I would be fully supported.
I attended the Business Northwest event at Manchester Central in December last year, which gave me some useful insights into how the top companies work to get results and retain their staff. I feel that this has had a positive effect on my management style.
The Group has sound ethical principles and I know – from first hand experience - that these are strictly adhered to and play a major part in all of our decisions. We also have to consider the needs and constraints of the Co-operative Retail Trading Group’s members when making decisions.
I’m really proud of the way my team have developed to work extremely well together and the improved level of performance we have consequently reached. The more pro-active, cohesive style of working, along with an increased level of autonomy for all team members, has meant that we are now able to provide a better service to other areas of the business, and work on developments to improve further.
