Part of my role is to receive on a daily basis from the suppliers goods in, so that we receive it, match it up with our invoices and then put it on the shelf ready for the afternoon shift to pick and proceed it on to the stores for the store orders.

My job satisfaction within The Co-op is dealing with day-to-day issues; problems that are outside of our control, the roads, late deliveries. It’s really just the day-to-day excitement of what we’re going to come in to next.

We deal with short coded, short date life products and so to see it where it should be, on the shelf, ready for anyone to go in and buy, it gives you immense satisfaction that you’ve done your part in that cycle and yeah its immensely pleasing.

I feel as if I’m part of one big family. They pride themselves on their community work and their involvement within the community and I think that is true. From working within the warehouse, you feel part of that big family. And you go home and you still feel part of it because your local store, well in my case, just so happens to be a local Co-op and it is, even then, a part of the community.
