Developing your true potential

We offer a combination of all the training activities and qualifications you would expect in Food Retail, as well as many other internal learning experiences, which will help develop your true potential. Everything you learn here can be transferred to other areas of The Co-operative Group.

Whether you are joining us as a Customer Service Assistant, or taking on the role of Store Supervisor, our Retail Service Skills Training and Team Leader Programmes will help you to develop outstanding customer service skills. As your career progresses with us there is the potential to become a member of our store management team. Our Duty and Store Management Programmes provide tailored training and will develop your people management and leadership skills.

All this said, we don’t believe in a ‘one-size fits all’ approach to development. We think it’s really important for our people to be able to develop in different ways. If you are very career-minded, there are plenty of opportunities to take on new responsibilities and develop. Equally, you may just want to do your job even better. Whichever you are looking for, you can count on us to help you to continue learning and to gain the skills that are important to your job - ensuring you become the best you can be.
