If you’re looking to develop a career in pharmacy support, this is a great learning opportunity and the chance to make a big difference in your community. You don’t need pharmacy experience. More importantly, if you’re friendly, organised and customer-focused, you’ll find yourself in good company as part of a pharmacy team focused on building relationships with customers.
Working with people from every walk of life, every single day, you’ll need to be someone who thrives on helping customers — whether that’s from across the medicines counter or in the pharmacy dispensary. As well as amazing customer service, you’ll provide healthcare advice, non-prescription sales assistance and medicines (under the guidance of one of our Pharmacists, naturally). Although you won’t be involved in dispensing, you will play a vital part in helping to strengthen our bond with the community.
Often, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers. So you can be sure of a varied role, from displaying and rotating pharmacy products to dealing with queries with GP’s surgeries.
Who we look for
To become a Dispensing Assistant, you’ll need retail experience and an NVQ Level 2 equivalent qualification in Pharmacy Services. But don’t worry if you haven’t yet got an NVQ, we’ll support you to gain this. Then, once qualified, you’ll progress from Healthcare Assistant to a fully-fledged Dispensing Assistant.
We’ll also expect you to be great with people — whether that’s meeting the unique needs of every customer who comes through our doors or supporting our close-knit pharmacy team.
