Dispensing Assistant

This is a great learning opportunity and for many it is the starting point for the development of a long-term career in pharmacy support.  You do not need pharmacy experience to apply for the role of Dispensing Assistant, but you do need excellent customer care skills and a background in retail.

A successful application for one of these job vacancies means you will join us as a Healthcare Assistant. Although you will not be involved in dispensing, you will be an important part of our commitment to healthcare, helping to strengthen our bond with the community. It is all about helping customers and using your knowledge to sell our wide range of health and beauty products.

We will enrol you to undertake an NVQ level 2 within your first twelve weeks and your branch manager and your wider team will support you through your learning. Once qualified, you will become a Dispensing Assistant, and you will receive a pay increase to reflect the fact that you are able to take on additional responsibilities.

If you already have some pharmacy experience and have gained a Level 2 Dispensing Assistant qualification, you will be able to join us as a Dispensing Assistant straight away. 

Whichever route you take, within this role you will support the whole dispensing process, providing a vital service to your colleagues by keeping the branch environment clean and safe, and by lending a hand wherever it is needed. You will also help customers, by listening to their needs and using your product knowledge to help them make the right choices.
