Regional management

Working in the front-line, our branch network is doing an excellent job in delivering great advice and products to the millions of customers who come into our branches. It is challenging work, and that is why we need skilled regional and divisional managers to provide inspirational support, ideas and leadership.

Does that sound like you? Then we have critical roles where you will use your talents to nurture people, increase sales, and establish The Co-operative as the leading provider of ethical and socially responsible pharmacy services in the UK.

Regional Development Managers

These people look after a large team spread across a number of branches, and are responsible for making sure that each branch meets its targets and the high expectations of our customers, as well as the ethical standards of The Co-operative.

You will manage and deploy resources, coach and develop branch managers and identify new ways to extend and improve our service. In other words, you will be there for your team, so that they are there for our customers and the community. Though some of our regional managers have a pharmacy background, many do not. What you need most of all is a proven ability to lead by example and a positive, inspirational effect on people, sales and business development.

Divisional Managers

These people look after a large team of Regional Development Managers and a combined turnover of approximately £200 million: a significant commercial challenge, where your brief is to set profit and sales targets, and then make sure they are met.

To fulfill the complex demands of this important strategic role, you will need a strong customer service focus, together with the financial and change management skills needed to make sound and far-reaching business decisions. In particular, we will look for extensive senior experience of managing multiple retail sites.
