Flexible working

Finding the right balance

Work-life balance is important to us as a business, and helping people find the right balance in their work and their life clearly shows our commitment to our colleagues. Of course, not everyone finds the ideal solution; but because we aim to be as flexible as possible, we do our best to make sure that we can support our people throughout their career.

If you have a child, your commitments change, you need to take time off or if you have a bereavement in your family, we have the support to help. Flexible working allows many of our people to adopt a way of working that suits them and us. This ranges from job sharing to working part-time, changing hours or working from home. Of course it all depends on the area in which you work; but it’s good to know that there is the possibility there.

For people who have been with us for at least 26 weeks, we offer an additional period of maternity leave as well as the statutory leave. Or if you decide to adopt, we provide similar benefits; and of course, all new dads get paternity leave. There is also the opportunity to take up to 13 weeks’ unpaid parental leave before the 5th birthday of your child.

Your well-being is important, and if you need to take emergency leave, compassionate leave or a leave of absence, there is the structure and support in place to help make that happen.

All managers are briefed on our approach to work-life balance and throughout the business, there is a conscious desire to be as flexible and as supportive as we can.
